Oct. 17, 2017
QUEENS, N.Y. - With the fall season coming to a close, the St. John’s women’s tennis team is ready to compete at the 2017 ITA Regional Championships presented by Oracle. The Red Storm will head to Philadelphia, Pa. to compete in the Northeast Regional at the Hemlin/Hecht Tennis Centers on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
This will be the second trip to the City of Brotherly Love for St. John’s as the Johnnies competed in the Cissie Leary Invitational just a few weeks prior.
All competitors will look to join sophomore Jessica Livianu at the ITA National Championships in November.
The ITA Regional Championships feature some of the top men's and women's players across the country. Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete across 85 ITA Regional Championships around the country.
The Northeast Regional will run from Thursday, Oct. 18 through Monday, Oct. 23 with qualifying singles beginning tomorrow at 10 a.m.
Head Coach Lauren Leo hopes that a competitive fall schedule will help the Red Storm to success at the upcoming regional championships.
