Nov. 2, 2017

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John’s women’s tennis team will take the court for the final time in the 2017 fall season when the Red Storm travel to Buffalo, N.Y. for the UB Indoor Invite starting Friday and concluding on Sunday.

The tournament, hosted by the University of Buffalo at New York, features four teams competing in a hidden dual format with a round-robin style weekend. While no team scores will be kept, singles and doubles will be contested in each match.

This weekend’s schedule appears like this:

November 3rd

12:00 - Buffalo vs St John’s

4:30 - Rutgers vs Binghamton

November 4th

11:30 - Buffalo vs Rutgers

4:00 - St. John’s vs Binghamton

November 5th

8:30 - St. John’s vs Rutgers

1:00 - Buffalo vs Binghamton

No live stats or video are available for this weekend.

With the tournament being the final of the fall season, St. John’s head coach Lauren Leo hopes that the format of hidden duals will help the team prepare for the upcoming dual season in the spring.

At the ITA Northeast Regional Championships presented by Oracle last weekend, junior Olaya Inclan Solis reached the round of 16 in the singles tournament and all three doubles teams reached the round of 16 with the pairings of Jaide Collins / Zofia Stanisz and Jessica Livianu / Kajsa Stegrell both reaching the quarterfinals to highlight the week for the Red Storm.
