Kerrian Stewart is in her first season as a graduate assistant in the track and field office at St. John's University. Last summer, Stewart competed as a member of the Jamaican national team at the World University Games in the 200 meters. She advanced to the semifinals. Stewart was a member of the Red Storm track and field team last season. During both the indoor and outdoor season, she won gold medals at the Metropolitan Championships, the BIG EAST Championships and the ECAC Championships. Stewart placed ninth at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships. Prior to her time at St. John's, Stewart competed at the NACAC's in Sherbrook, Canada during the summer of 2004 for the under-23 Jamaican national team. She also received the Outstanding Athlete Award in 2003 and was named the Sports Woman of the Year in 2002 for her alma mater, the University of Technology. Stewart is pursuing her master's in education.
