2003: As only a sophomore, Ahlers was named AVCA All-American Honorable Mention, the first player in St. John's history to ever receive the award. Ahlers was also named to the 2003 AVCA All-Northeast Region team and All-BIG EAST team, only the second Red Storm player in history to earn first team honors. At St. John's, Ahlers received the Dr. Margaret Mary Fitzpatrick Volleyball MVP Award in addition to the prestigious John W. Kaiser Award which is given to the "outstanding female student-athlete representing St. John's." For the season, Ahlers set the BIG EAST conference and St. John's record for kills in a single season with 608. She ranked 23rd in the country and first in the BIG EAST in kills per game, averaging 5.02 and ranked first in the conference in total points. During the season Jackie was named to four different all-tournament teams, including being named the 10th Annual SJU Classic Most Valuable Player. For her efforts over the course of the season, Jackie was named BIG EAST player of the week three times and ECAC player of the week once. In the summer of 2004, Ahlers, along with teammate Yana Ruban and coach Persico-Smith, won the gold medal at the Empire State Games for the New York City team.

2002: In her first year at St. John's, Jackie composed one of the best season's all-time by a St. John's hitter. Besides from leading the team, her 512 kills and 1,127 attempts, rank second all-time in a single season, being surpassed by only Olga Roudovski in 2000. Jackie compiled a hitting percentage of .265 on the season, ranking her third on the St. John's career list. Aside from kills, Jackie finished second on the team in total blocks with 73 and service aces with 32, while being fourth in digs with 210. Jackie posted six double-doubles on the season, while reaching double-digits in kills in all but six matches. She led the team or shared the lead in kills in 23 of the team's 33 matches. In a hard-fought five set victory over Georgetown, Jackie set her career-highs in kills (26) and attempts (60). After the season, Jackie received All-BIG EAST honorable mention recognition. During the summer, Jackie earned a silver medal at the 2003 Empire State Games playing on the New York City team.

Before St. John's: Jackie was named Rockland Journal News Player of Year as both a junior and senior. Serving as captain during her senior season, she was named the no. 1 player in the state for class A volleyball. Jackie's team won the league championship each of her three years on the varsity squad. In 2000, North Rockland won the state championship and Jackie was given all-state, all-county and all-league honors. A member of the school's honor roll, Jackie played for the Raider Volleyball and Downstate club teams.
