2014 Season Preview

The 2014 St. John's volleyball season begins on Friday, Aug. 29, with the Bryant Invitational in Smithfield, R.I. The home opener is on Monday, Sept. 1 against St. Peter's in Taffner Field House (Rec side). The Carnesecca Arena opener is on Friday, Sept. 12 against Dartmouth.

DePaul vs. St. John's - November 9, 2012

St. John's takes on DePaul on "Senior Night" from Carnesecca Arena on Nov. 9, 2012.

As A Senior (2015): Played in 73 sets across 31 matches, making 12 starts … racked up 182 kills to finish fourth on the team … ranked fifth on the squad in digs (145) with a 1.99 digs per set … posted a career-high three service aces against DePaul (Nov. 15) … notched a career-high 19 kills and 50 attacks against Marquette (Nov. 14) … had a career-high 19 digs vs. Xavier (Oct. 30).

As A Junior (2014): Played in 68 sets across 28 matches, making eight starts...notched 95 kills and 244 attacks with only 36 errors (.242 hitting percentage)...recorded six service aces, 86 digs and 14 blocks on the season...set a career-high .833 hitting percentage with 10 kills on 12 attacks against Kent State (Sept. 19)...racked up a career-high three aces at Villanova (Sept. 24).

As A Sophomore (2013): Played in 73 sets across 28 matches ... recorded 88 kills and 278 attacks with only 37 errors (.183 hitting percentage) as well as five services aces, 109 digs and 14 blocked shots on the season... earned back-to-back double-doubles in November with 15 kills and 12 digs on the road against Creighton (Nov. 1) and a career-high 18 kills and 14 digs at DePaul (Nov. 8)... notched a career-high 16 digs and added one service ace with 40 total attacks at Seton Hall (Nov. 22).

As A Freshman (2012): Played in 36 sets across 20 matches, making two starts ... registered two kills on two attempts for a 1.000 attacking percentage vs. DePaul (Nov. 9) ... racked up a season-high six blocks in a win vs. Seton Hall (Oct. 26) ... recorded two kills, a dig, and a block in her first-career start at USF (Oct. 21) ... had three kills on five attempts (.600 attacking percentage), while adding a dig and a block at Pitt (Oct. 19) ... posted two kills on four attempts for a 1.000 hitting percentage vs. Cincinnati (Oct. 14) ... racked up a season-high eight kills and 25 attempts, while adding four blocks in a win vs. NJIT (Sept. 15) ... posted four kills on a .333 attacking percentage vs. St. Francis (Sept. 8) ... contributed two digs in her season debut vs. Towson (Aug. 24).

At Guamani Private School: The Most Valuable Player at the 2009 Guamani Private School Junior Tournament ... played club for Team Rags from 2009-12, captaining the squad in all four years ... led club to a gold medal at the Puerto Rico Under-21 National Championship and was named to the all-tournament team ... club team also qualified for the USA Volleyball Nationals in both 2010 and 2011 in the 16 and 17 open divisions, respectively.

Off the Court: An illustration major who lists drawing and singing as hobbies ... came to St. John's because of the school's reputation and the volleyball coaching staff ... if she weren't playing volleyball, she would be a flautist in a big orchestra ... favorite quote is: "No dreamer is ever too small, no dream is ever to big" ... favorite food is mofongo ... aspires to be a known and recognized artist ... most influential person in her athletic career is her mother ... daughter of Marylyn Caraballo de Jesus.
