La Salle Names Former St. John's Standout Caitlin Rimgaila Head Women's Volleyball Coach|

QUEENS, N.Y. – Former St. John’s volleyball standout Caitlin Rimgaila has been named head coach of the La Salle women’s volleyball team as announced by La Salle Director of Athletics Dr. Tom Brennan. As a member of the Red Storm, Rimgaila was named 2006 Big East Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year after captaining the Red Storm to a 31-5 overall record and undefeated 14-0 mark as Big East Regular Season Champions. St. John’s was ranked as high as No. 24 in the national polls and advanced to the NCAA Second Round that season.
Prior to Lehigh, she spent one season as an assistant at Bucknell.
Before entering the college circuit, Rimgaila was the head coach of Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford, Pa. She was the first coach in program history and led the team to two top 10 rankings in the state and a pair of PIAA District I runner-up finishes.
She also has experience as the head coach for the Philadelphia Volleyball Academy, the Synergy Volleyball Club and an assistant at SUNY FIT.
A native of Trooper, Pa., Rimgaila was an all-state selection at Villa Maria Academy. She will receive a master’s in educational leadership and higher education administration from Lehigh in May.
Rimgaila is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and worked four years in the marketing/communications field.
