St. John's Cross Country Set To Host 2011 Fall Festival

Annual home meet at Cunningham Park in Queens celebrates Red Storm track & field history.

As A Freshman (2010): Began her St. John's career with a fourth place team finish at the 4K Venetian Cup (Sept. 4) with a time of 16:34...achieved her best 5K time of the year at the C.W. Post Invite (Sept. 18) clocking in at 20:51.96...ran a 24:57 at the NCAA Northeast Regionals for her fastest 6K time of the year...represented St. John's at the USATF Junior Cross Country Championships (Feb. 5) in San Diego.

Before St. John's: Five-year letterwinner in track and cross country at Batavia High School ... three-year team captain ... state qualifying champion in the 2K steeplechase in 2009, setting a new school record (7:06) ... led team to indoor sectional championships from 2005-10 ... ranked fourth in state in outdoor steeplechase in 2009 ... part of the outdoor 4x400-meter relay team that ranked seventh in New York State in 2010.

Personal: Daughter of Ross and Jennifer Jarvela ... has a brother, Alex (21) ... intends to major in sports management ... hopes to be a college track coach one day.
