Dillon is one of the strongest and most intense student-athletes that have come through our program. His intensity in the weight room has allowed him to make tremendous gains in strength and power. His work in the gym has translated into on-field success, as he's been the heart and soul of the Red Storm lacrosse team with his tough play. The two-year captain ranks ninth all-time for groundballs (214) and has the most caused turnovers (75) since the program was reinstated in 2005. One of the conference's top long stick midfielders, Ayers was a 2012 All-BIG EAST selection and a preseason All-BIG EAST choice prior to this season.

Ashley Beza - Softball

Ashley is a very hard worker and continually strives to achieve her personal best each and every training session. She has made significant improvements in strength, power and speed as well as in her mental toughness during training. Ashley has also demonstrated improvement in the circle. She has made outstanding gains in her pitch command and velocity. In addition, she has matured and gained a mental toughness that has significantly impacted her pitching performance. She was a major contributor for Red Storm softball in 2013, starting 19 games with five wins in six complete games along with a save. Over 99.2 innings pitched, Beza struck out 58, while giving up just 47 walks, allowing opponents to hit just .265 against her.

Jimmy is a wonderful individual with qualities that make him a top student-athlete.  His work ethic, intensity and positive attitude have allowed him to make significant gains in fitness and strength. His dedication to training has directly impacted his soccer performance. During his sophomore season, Jimmy's playing time increased significantly as he started in 22 out of 23 games.

Chanel King - Track & Field

Chanel is a model student-athlete here at St. John's University. She has been a team captain on Track & Field for the last two years and is currently the president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. While in the weight room, Chanel continually motivates her teammates to strive for personal excellence. Chanel is one of the strongest female athletes that I have worked with in my 15 years as Strength and Conditioning coach. Her work ethic, intensity and enthusiastic attitude have allowed her to make significant gains in strength and power. In her senior year Chanel established personal best scores for the Squat, Power Clean and Bench Press. Her success in the weight room has directly impacted her success in the throwing circle. She is currently on the all star Big East Team for the weight throw.

Matt has made significant improvements in strength, power, and speed. These performance gains are the direct result of his hard work, energy and positive attitude towards his strength and conditioning training. Since his freshman year, he has matured tremendously and has taken on a leadership role in the weight room. The success that he has achieved in his training has carried over to the diamond and has made a positive impact on his overall baseball performance. During the 2010 season, Matt started in 61 out of 62 games and had his best offensive year to date.

Nicole is a wonderful individual with qualities that make her a model student-athlete. Her work ethic, intensity and positive attitude allowed her to make significant gains in fitness and strength. In addition, Nicole continually demonstrated excellent exercise technique and possessed a high degree of knowledge with regards to strength and conditioning training. These qualities all had a positive influence on her teammates. Her dedication to the training program directly impacted her soccer performance. During her senior season, Nicole's playing time increased significantly as she started in 16 out of 18 games.

Reggie is pound-for-pound the strongest student-athlete that I have worked with and is the all time leader in strength and power for the STJ Lacrosse program.  His intensity and work ethic have allowed him to make tremendous gains in strength, power, and speed. Since his freshman year, he has increased his Squat by 125 pounds, Bench Press by 80 pounds and has gained 15 pounds of muscle. The gains made in his strength and conditioning training have directly impacted his Lacrosse performance. Because of his strength, power and speed, Reggie has been able to find an important role on the team.

Kat is an outstanding individual with qualities that make her the model student-athlete.
Her work ethic, intensity and positive attitude have allowed her to make significant gains in strength and power. In addition, Kat continually demonstrates excellent exercise technique which has had a positive influence on her teammates and their strive for perfection.  In only 2 years, Kat has increased her Clean by 25 pounds, Squat by 65 pounds and Vertical Jump by 3 inches. Kat's success in the weight room has directly impacted her success on the field. She has been able to improve her pitching speed by 5 mph and is now consistently in the low 60 mph range.

Casie is an outstanding student-athlete who has demonstrated a commitment towards her strength and conditioning training. Her athleticism, work ethic and positive attitude have allowed her to make excellent gains in strength, power, quickness, and fitness. Casie's success in the weight room has also carried over to the volleyball court. This 2007 season she posted career highs in kills, hitting percentage, and points. Her work ethic and skills have made her a pivotal part in the success of the St. John's Volleyball team achieving a season best record in program history at 33-4, a Big East Conference Championship title and an NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance.

Tom embodies those qualities that a strength and conditioning coach hopes to find in every student-athlete. His intensity, dedication, and positive attitude towards training have allowed him to make tremendous gains in strength and power. Since his freshman year, he has made steady improvements in the weight room, which have directly impacted his Lacrosse performance. Because of his size, strength, and skill, Tom has become one of the most feared attackmen in the ECAC. Michaelsen's presence at the attack position causes opponents to change their defensive schemes in order to minimize his impact on the game.

Latoya is an outstanding student-athlete who continually does a tremendous job during each strength and conditioning training session. Not only has her work ethic and enthusiasm allowed her to make excellent gains in strength and power, but has also motivated her teammates to train with intensity and passion. Her success in the weight room has carried over to the court. This 2006 season she posted career highs in kills and hitting percentage. Her work ethic and skills earned her second team All-Big East honors and made her a pivotal part in the success of the St. John's Volleyball team's perfect
14-0 record and Big East Conference regular season title.

Brendan has done a tremendous job with his strength and conditioning training. His hard work, dedication, and positive attitude towards training have allowed him to make significant gains in strength and power. Since his freshman year, he has made steady improvements in the weight room, which have directly impacted his baseball performance. The success that he has achieved in his training has carried over to the diamond and has significantly improved his throwing and hitting power. Monaghan has been a starter behind the plate for each of the last two seasons.

Blessing has done an outstanding job with her strength and conditioning training. She brings an intensity and enthusiasm each training session, which has allowed her to make extraordinary gains in strength and power. Her success in the weight room has carried over to the throwing circle and has transformed her into one of the top throwers in the Big East. In the 2005 Big East Outdoor Championship, Blessing earned all Big East Honors with a first place throw in the hammer.
