As A Junior In 2006: Started all 19 games in
the backfield as a vocal defensive leader and finished with a goal
and an assist … played a long ball from the left side that was
headed into goal by Natasha Lee for her second-career assist in the
season-opener at Fairleigh Dickinson (Aug. 25) … proved her skill
at taking free kicks when she blasted a 25-yarder past Providence
goalkeeper Laura Elfers in the Red Storm’s 3-2 win over the Friars
(Oct. 8).
As A Sophomore In 2005: One of three returning
players to start all 19 games for St. John’s … scored her first
collegiate goal against Bucknell (Sept. 2) at the University of
Connecticut’s tournament … that goal, a free kick that found the
back of the net, was the game-winner and lifted the Red Storm to a
2-1 victory … Cohen also led the team in that game with three shots
… also had a three shots in the team’s next game vs. Quinnipiac
(Sept. 4) … helped the Red Storm defense earn shutout victories
over Stony Brook (Sept. 14) and Pittsburgh (Sept. 23).
As A Freshman In 2004: Emerged as a solid
defender during her freshman campaign with the Red Storm … appeared
in 19 games, making five starts … earned her first collegiate start
in a win over Wagner (Sept. 12) in the championship game of the St.
John’s Women’s Soccer NYC Nike Classic … assisted on the
game-winning goal in a 2-1 overtime win vs. Seton Hall (Oct. 6) …
started and had a solid defensive game in the Red Storm’s win at
Providence (Oct. 24).
Before St. John’s: Participated in the Olympic
Development Program (ODP) for six years … was a Region I ODP pool
player … competed in the national finals, while playing for head
coach Ian Stone, in 2002 … captained the Calhoun High School team
as a junior and senior … received all-county honors for
three-straight seasons … named the team’s Most Valuable Player as a
junior.
