The St. John's softball team has five freshmen on its 2006
squad. As a rookie, there is a lot to learn, a lot to experience
and a lot of firsts.
Jessica Foley,
Lauren Lupinetti,
Alyssa Clark,
Roxann Struble and
Melissa Pilley will take redstormsports.com along with them for
the ride. In the fifth and final installment of "Rookie Diary,"
Alyssa Clark will talk about how she has contributed to the
team and life in New York.
Hey St. John's Softball Fans:
My name is Alyssa Clark and I am a freshman outfielder for
the St. John's softball team. I am originally from the beautiful
Santa Ana, Calif.
So far this season, I have had the opportunity to play in four
games. I am currently battling an ankle injury that I got while
playing in summer league but I hope to keep contributing to the
team whenever I get the chance.
I am having a great time with the team and soaking up life as a
college athlete. Living with some of my teammates has been a good
way to get to know some of the girls on and off the field. Even
though I am just a freshman, I feel like the team has really
welcomed me with open arms and we all get along pretty well.
I am really enjoying New York and it is completely different
from what I am used to. It's great to experience a different range
of people and there are so many resources here. It's really cool to
just hop on the subway and be in the city. It's a little bit colder
than California but I'm getting used to it.
Thanks and Go Red Storm!
